Think and Grow Rich | Day 5
The Workshop of the Mind
Welcome back to Imagine Money, a short daily lesson to help us all think better so we can live better. This week we're reading the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
Last time we discussed the Mastermind Alliance concept, today we are drawing inspiration from imagination - the workshop of the mind.
Here is how Hill describes it: "The Imagination is literally the workshop wherein are fashioned all plans created by man... It has been said that man can create anything which he can imagine."
Hill tells the story of a young drug store clerk who gave his entire life savings of $500 to an old country doctor. The doctor sold him an old-fashioned kettle, a wooden paddle, and a piece of paper with a secret formula. The clerk chanced his entire savings on a scrap of paper and an old kettle.
He purchased a single idea, mixed it with the secret ingredient of imagination, and created the Coca-Cola company.
The use of imagination has two forms: Synthetic Imagination, where you rearrange old ideas into new combinations. And Creative Imagination where the limited mind has direct access to Infinite Intelligence. This comes through inspiration, new ideas, plans, and intuition.
Titans of industry, great artists, writers, musicians, and financial leaders have developed their creative imaginations to achieve great success and wealth. Steve Jobs took things that already existed and imagined new uses for them. Walt Disney imagined new ways to entertain the world. Sara Blakely reimagined pantyhose to create the Spanx company. They all built global empires by using the power of imagination.
Your desire is a thought, but to move it into the level of accomplishment, success, and the Money you desire, you must use the power of creative imagination.
We all think and feel a certain way, which translates into our life experience. When we have a goal in mind, we can use the power of imagination to envision a new life. We will move into action, a new consciousness, and a new life experience.
Successful people create clear mental images of their goal and see their desire; they know how to move towards it.
"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions." - Albert Einstein.
Are you ready to apply the power of imagination to your life? Here is a simple exercise to use after this lesson.
Find a place and a time where you can get quiet for a few minutes.
Choose something that you want or your burning desire.
Close your eyes and take deep breaths.
Imagine what you want by feeling that you already have it. Use all your senses. What will it feel like, what will you hear, see, touch, smell?
Take a few minutes imagining.
Open your eyes.
Did you see a preview of your life's coming attractions?
That's all for today. Until next time, keep imagining what's possible.
